About This Project
- Significant Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions: This project mitigates greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil fuel combustion for power generation with clean, renewable energy from wind. By harnessing wind energy, the project directly contributes to lowering carbon footprints, promoting sustainable energy production, and advancing global climate goals.
- Sustainable Funding through Carbon Credits: The sale of carbon credits generated by the wind farm enables continuous investment and operational sustainability. These credits provide the essential financial support required to construct and maintain the facility, allowing it to function effectively and meet its renewable energy targets.
- Large-Scale Wind Energy Generation: Owned and operated by Basin Electric, this wind farm consists of 77 state-of-the-art 1.5 MW turbines. Together, they generate substantial amounts of clean electricity, benefiting local communities by providing an eco-friendly power source.
- Energy Integration with Regional Grid: The wind farm is interconnected with the Western Area Power Administration’s transmission system, ensuring that the renewable energy produced reaches local residents efficiently, contributing to regional energy independence and resilience.

Sustainability Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interconnected goals established by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. The SDGs build upon the earlier Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) but are broader in scope, encompassing a wide range of economic, social, and environmental issues. They provide a comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges and achieving a more sustainable and equitable world. This project has the following sustainability development goals that are displayed.
